Psychotherapy provides a space for us to acquire insight and clarity, create new priorities, and gain the courage to change. Yet, what can you expect in therapy, once you’ve booked that first session?
Fiercely Confident Therapy is a fully remote and virtual experience, for anyone in the state of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Telehealth sessions take place on Simple Practice, a secure HIPAA compliant platform.
To prepare for your session:
- Get comfy in a private space. If possible, it can be useful to take your session in a different area from where you work.
- Have water and tissues at hand, maybe even a notebook if there’s something we discuss that you feel compelled to jot down.
- I also strongly encourage you to put your phone on airplane mode, so you can stay as present as possible.
The majority of my practice focuses on helping clients manage anxiety, traumatic experiences, grief and loss and life transitions.

With PPO insurances plans, you may be reimbursed in full or in part. I can provide you with a monthly superbill to give to your insurer. Please check your coverage by asking your insurance provider the following questions:
- Does my plan provide out-of-network reimbursement for mental health?
- Is there a deductible I need to meet before you will start to reimburse me?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What percentage of the fee do you cover?
Is it OK if I prefer not to involve my insurance provider?
Most of my clients choose to not involve their insurance provider in their treatment. Here are some of the advantages:
- You won’t have a diagnosis label permanently attached to your health record.
- Your records are protected, which means all information about you, including very personal information, cannot be obtained by the insurance company.
- Your care is not dictated by the insurance company, but by the collaborative efforts formed by my professional expertise and your personal preferences and goals.
What is a superbill?
A superbill is an invoice that can be used to file a claim for potential insurance reimbursement. At the end of each month, you’ll receive a document that has my provider information, the dates and rates of services, a code that tells your insurance company what type of services you received, and a diagnostic code that tells your insurance company what you received services for. In order to provide a superbill, I have to offer a diagnostic impression, which can and should be an open conversation in our sessions.
Treatment Questions
Do you prescribe medication?
I do not prescribe medication. After working together, we may decide that medication might be appropriate, we can work together to find a psychiatrists and/or psychiatric nurse practitioners that can collaborate with you on your treatment.
What is the cancellation policy?
If you’re unable to make it to a session, you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel with less than 24-hours notice, you will be responsible for the full cost of the session. I understand life/emergencies happen and am as flexible as possible to accommodate for this.
